Renzo Piano - The Good Volcano

Il Vulcano Buono (The Good Volcano) is a mall in Nola, a few kilometers from Naples, designed by architect Renzo Piano. The architect was inspired by the symbol of Naples: Mount Vesuvius. It is composed of an artificial hill that adjusts to the singular and sinuous lines of the volcano via a series of circles, each of which has a different slope, that come together to form a truncated cone ovoid. There is a central exterior plaza 160 meters in diameter divided in three concentric zones. Video by Franco Di Capua
