David Adjaye - "Themes and Works"

Conference "Themes and Works," by David Adjaye, presented in the auditorium of La Pedrera in Barcelona, organized by the Barcelona Institute of Architecture. David Adjaye (Tanzania, 1966) studied in London and received a degree in architecture from the Royal College of Art in 1993. After working with David Chipperfield Architects and Eduardo Souto de Moura and associating with William Russelland in the 1990s, he founded Adjaye Associates in 2000. Adjaye is known for his experimental proposals with residential projects in the East End of London and for the innovative projects that blur the margins of the private and public sector, including Whitechapel´s Idea Store, the Nobel Peace Center in Oslo, or the Stephen Lawrence Centre in London. Recent works include the Museum of Contemporary Art/Denver, the Moscow School of Management/SKOLKOVO, Smithsonian´s National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington DC and a economic housing scheme in Harlem, New York.
